Get To Know Us

Thinking about coming to St. Paul's for the first time?  We realize trying something new can be a little scary.  We want to do everything we can to put you at ease.  Here's a snapshot of what to expect on a typical Sunday morning.

When Does Worship Start?

We have two service times at St. Paul's:

Our Traditional service is in our West Sanctuary at 8:30 AM.

Our Contemporary service is in our South Sanctuary at 10:15 AM.

Our Adult Sunday School Block is from 9:45 AM to 10:45 AM.

In addition to the services, we have our Sunday-School hour which begins at 10:15 AM and goes until 11:15 AM for GK Kids (ages 0-3rd grade) and J.A.M. (grades 4-6).

Our Lifeline teenagers (Grades 7-12) meet from 9:00AM - 10:00AM on the second floor area.

Our Open Arms Cafe is open from 9:30 AM - 10:15 AM where coffee and snacks are available.

What Should I Wear?

Wear whatever you feel comfortable in.  You'll see the entire spectrum of clothing from formal suits to flip-flops and jeans.  Right from the start, we want you to know that St. Paul's is about who you are on the inside, not what you look like on the outside.

Where Should I Park?

We have plenty of parking spaces available on Sunday morning in our parking lot or street side on Locust Street.  If you are handicapped, we of course have available spaces.  If you need assistance and the weather isn't cooperating due to rain, pull under the portico and those who need assistance will be able to stay dry as they head into the building through our office entrance.

Where Do I Go Once I'm Inside?

Great question!  There are ushers and volunteers available at both doors who will be able to direct you to the worship service you want to attend.

What Should I Do With My Children?

St. Paul's has a full range of age-appropriate programs for infants through sixth grade during our Sunday-School hour at 10:15 AM. Infants thru 3rd grade are checked into our security system on the lower level by the Children's Wing and then walked to their classroom by their guardian.  The children are picked up directly from their classroom at the end of the 10:15 Service.

Children in 4-6th grades attend the opening of the Contemporary Service in the South Sanctuary and are then dismissed to their class.  They will be met following the service in the Lobby.

What About Older Children and Youth?

Starting at seventh-grade and moving all the way through high school, our youth meet on Sunday mornings from 9AM - 10AM and evenings from 6PM - 8PM where they will be engaged directly with Biblical teaching and discipleship.

We invite these youth to stay and participate in our Sunday morning worship services.

What Will I Be Expected to Do During a Worship Experience?

  • We promise that you will not be embarrassed or pressed into giving money or to join our church, so relax and focus on worshiping God.
  • We'll be singing songs, and whoever is leading worship will direct you to the lyrics and music, which will be either in a hymnal or on the screen.
  • You may also see Christian sacraments such as baptism or communion, and we'll be sure to explain what they mean so you won't feel out of the loop.
  • One of our pastors will share a relevant message to encourage you to discover truths that help you see life from God's point of view.  We encourage you to follow along on the outline or to take notes, and check what the pastors are saying against the Bible for yourself.
  • After the service, you will pick up your little ones downstairs directly from the classroom, meet up with friends for lunch, or go home.

What's the Next Step?

We encourage you to visit our Welcome Center which is located immediately outside of our West Sanctuary (you can't miss it).  If you're a first-time guest, we have a small gift that is our way of saying "thank you."

Or, feel free to use our online Connection Card and we'll follow up with you directly!
