Get To Know Us

Thinking about coming to St. Paul's for the first time?  We realize trying something new can be a little scary.  We want to do everything we can to put you at ease.  Here's a snapshot of what to expect on a typical Sunday morning.

When Does Worship Start?

We have two service times at St. Paul's:

Our Traditional service is in our West Sanctuary at 8:30 AM.

Our Contemporary service is in our South Sanctuary at 11:00 AM.

In between the services, we have our Sunday-School hour which begins at 9:45 AM and goes until 10:45 AM, which also includes our café time where coffee and snacks are available.

What Should I Wear?

Wear whatever you feel comfortable in.  You'll see the entire spectrum of clothing from formal suits to flip-flops and jeans.  Right from the start, we want you to know that St. Paul's is about who you are on the inside, not what you look like on the outside.

Where Should I Park?

We have plenty of parking spaces available on Sunday morning in our parking lot or street side on Locust Street.  If you are handicapped, we of course have available spaces.  If you need assistance and the weather isn't cooperating due to rain, pull under the portico and those who need assistance will be able to stay dry as they head into the building through our office entrance.

Where Do I Go Once I'm Inside?

Great question!  There are ushers and volunteers available at both doors who will be able to direct you to the worship service you want to attend.

What Should I Do With My Children?

St. Paul's has a full range of age-appropriate programs for infants through third grade during our Sunday-School hour and 11:00 AM worship service.  Infants and toddlers through three-years old can be dropped off at the nursery on the lower level (an usher can help you).  Once kids are four-years old, they'll be in their own class and will be walked to their own worship experience directly from the South Sanctuary, all while you continue the worship experience.

What About Older Children and Youth?

Starting at fourth-grade and moving all the way through high school, we have groups and classes during our Sunday School hour where the youth will be engaged directly with Biblical teaching and discipleship.

What Will I Be Expected to Do During a Worship Experience?

  • We promise that you will not be embarrassed or pressed into giving money or to join our church, so relax and focus on worshiping God.
  • We'll be singing songs, and whoever is leading worship will direct you to the lyrics and music, which will be either in a hymnal or on the screen depending on the service you attend.
  • You may also see Christian sacraments such as baptism or communion, and we'll be sure to explain what they mean so you won't feel out of the loop.
  • One of our pastors will share a relevant message to encourage you to discover truths that help you see life from God's point of view.  We encourage you to follow along on the outline or to take notes, and check what the pastors are saying against the Bible for yourself.
  • After the service, you will pick up your little ones downstairs directly from the classroom, meet up with friends for lunch, or go home.

What's the Next Step?

We encourage you to visit our Welcome Center which is located immediately outside of our West Sanctuary (you can't miss it).  If you're a first-time guest, we have a small gift that is our way of saying "thank you."

Or, feel free to use our online Connection Card and we'll follow up with you directly!
